Jessica Ellen Cornish is Jessie's real name but her stage name is Jessie J. She was born on 27th March 1988 and was born and raised in London. Jessie studied at the BRIT School. She first signed a record deal with Gut Records. She then landed a songwriting deal with Sony/ATV Publishing and she ended up writing songs for other celebrities such as Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus. After being signed with Universal she produced her debut single 'Do It Like A Dude' which got as far as number two in the UK Singles charts. Next Jessie released her debut album 'Who You Are' after topping the charts in nineteen countries with her single 'Price Tag'. Also included in that particular album was 'Nobody's Perfect', 'Who's Laughing Now' and 'Who You Are'. All of the above singles charted under twenty in the Uk Singles Charts too. In the US her single 'Domino' charted sixth in the 'Billboard Hot 100' and it became her second UK number one. 'Laser Light' was Jessie's sixth top ten single from the album and I really enjoy listening to it. My favourite song of hers would have to be 'Price Tag' for many reasons; some being the fact that it makes you want to just get up and dance and sing along and I also really love the message of the song and I look up to Jessie a lot for writing her feelings in a song and getting such a fantastic moral across. Jessie J was now the first British female artist to have six top ten singles all from one album. Aside from her incredibly successful musical career, Jessie served as a judge and mentor on a popular television show 'The Voice UK' alongside Danny O'Donoghue, Sir Tom Jones and will.iam with Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates.
Jessie beautifully mixes soul vocals with contemporary R&B, pop, electropop and hip-hop beats. Among her many awards Jessie has won the 2011 Critic's choice BRIT award and the BBC's Sound of 2011. As of April 2012 she has sold over 11 million singles and 2.5 million albums worldwide.
Jessie J is an inspirational artist and I love her and her music. That's me done, BloggertasticManiac over and out.
